About the event
The course will build upon and develop your responses to critical incidents. Closely looking at and following the XABCDE assessment method will enhance your exposure to medical, trauma and critical situations that require an immediate response.
Through didactic case-based scenarios, our lectures will take you through situations where you can discuss and evaluate your responses to incents and scenarios within the learning environment. Within small groups, there will then be the ability to practice hands-on life-saving skills and interventions such as airway management, bleeding control and many more skill stations where you can demonstrate your knowledge of rescue and emergency equipment.
The course also has regular real-time, actual patient moulages throughout the first two days to enable you to demonstrate all the new or refreshed skills you have experienced during the course.
Finally, building up to the final day of the course, we will stage an incident for you to follow in real-time alongside your managerial colleagues to test the entire mine emergency rescue plan from the point of injury to the final debrief at the end of the incident.
