About the event

Immediate Care Paramedics are delighted to be able to deliver the internationally recognised and world renowned 9th Edition of  the Prehospital Trauma Life Support Course in New Zealand.

Immediate Care Paramedics delivers the PHTLS course through evidence-based lectures, skill stations and realistic moulage patient scenarios. The course is supported by the comprehensive 9th Ed of the PHTLS manual which. This will be sent to you once your booking is confirmed prior to the course, enabling you to prepare adequately. The PHTLS manual is part of the course structure and the final exam questions can be drawn from the manual and the course content.

PHTLS is currently one of the pre requisite qualifications required to work in many areas of the private sector. The course will be given a course registration number which is registered and traceable through NAMET to ensure the course validity. The course is recognised as delivering 16hrs of educational CPD/CCE credits towards your professional registration, and is transferable  in Australia and 63 other countries around the world. 

 

The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved, or with an interest in the delivery of prehospital care.

 

Immediate Care Paramedics are delighted to deliver the PHTLS course developed by NAEMT in co-operation with the American College of Surgeons' Committee on Trauma, which provides medical direction and oversight.

 

PHTLS courses have been proven to improve the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality through ongoing research and statistical data.

 

The programme is based on a philosophy stressing the treatment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs.

 

Immediate Care Paramedics throiugh our PHTLS Courses promote critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care.

During the course you may also express an interest in becoming a PHTLS Instructor with Immediate Care Paramedics as we will be actively recruiting the right candidate/candidates for instructor development. Details will be given to candidates who express an interest during the course.

    Immediate Care Paramedics are happy to hire to you, PHTLS Manuals for your course. The PHTLS will be provided to you once your payment has been received. There is an expectation that the books are returned in the condition they were lent. Marking, Highlighting and note-making within the manual is NOT allowed, if the manual is returned in a condition where it can no longer be used, you agree to pay for a replacement manual at the full purchase price.
