PHTLS (1 Day) First Responder Course

Immediate Care Paramedics are delighted to be able to introduce the worlds leading and prehospital trauma care course to New Zealand.

Prehospital Trauma Life Support First Responder (PHTLS-FR), now in its 9th Edition, is the gold standard and recognised around the world as the leading continuing education programme for prehospital emergency trauma care. It is one of the pre requisite qualifications for Paramedic Practice around the world and will be a bench mark in the forth coming Professional Registration discussions.

The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved, or with an interest in the delivery of prehospital care.

Immediate Care Paramedics are delighted to deliver the PHTLS-FR course developed by NAEMT in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons' Committee on Trauma, which provides medical direction and oversight.

PHTLS courses have been proven to improve the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality through ongoing research and statistical data.

The programme is based on a philosophy stressing the treatment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs.

PHTLS promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care.

Immediate Care Paramedics delivers the PHTLS-FR course through evidence based lectures, skill stations and realistic moulaged patient scenarios, supported by the comprehensive PHTLS-FR course book.
